Adding Details to the Pelvis
Step 1
Retrieve the pelvic assembly from the previous issue. Apply a small amount of super glue to the sides of these two posts:
Fit the Pelvic Shield (Left) to the pelvic assembly as shown, fitting it over the posts where you just applied glue.
These are the holes in the Pelvic Shield (Left) that fit over the posts:
This should sit nice and flush around the edges:
Step 2
Cut the two Pelvic Sockets from the sprue and smooth out any rough edges at the cutting points:
Step 3
The bottom of each Pelvic Socket has a keyed tab:
These tabs match these slots on either side of the pelvic assembly:
Step 4
Fit both Pelvic Sockets into place and secure them with two (2) PB 2×5 mm screws:
Step 5
Test fit the Pelvic Plate between the two pelvic sides at the front of the pelvic assembly:
Remove the Pelvic Plate and apply a thin line of super glue to these curved lips on either side at the front of the pelvis.
I chose to add the glue in the next step, but this is where it would go:
Steps 6-7
Fit the Pelvic Plate between the two pelvic sides at the front of the pelvic assembly, and allow the glue to dry.
To make this cleaner, I added my glue along the curved inside edges of the Pelvic Plate and in two spots along the ledge (marked below):
Then, I slid it into place and held it down until dry:
Thoughts
With this issue finished, the pelvis is pretty much complete. In the next issue, we will attach it to the spine. In upcoming issues, we will add a few more details and begin the attachment points for the legs.
