Affix Rock Details and Searchlight to the First Base Section

Step 1

Retrieve your Searchlight assembly from the previous issue. Thread the plug end of the LED and Cable through this hole of the First Base Panel:

Step 2

Then, slide the split posts of the Searchlight Stand down into this hole, aligning them to the matching tabs of the hole, and snap the Searchlight assembly into place, as shown:

Step 3

With this Searchlight installed, it should be able to rotate a few degrees and tilted up and down:

Step 4

Take the Larger Rock Detail and test fit its squared post to this matching recess of the First Base Panel:

Next, apply super glue to the edges of the squared post of the Larger Rock Detail.

Two things: From here on, I will highlight the sides of these detail ‘posts’ in yellow to show where the glue should go. However, at this time, I am not going to be securing these details permanently to my base just yet as I want to customize the entire thing. My pictures will show the parts temporarily in place:

Step 5

Fit the Larger Rock Detail to the First Base Panel and hold it in place until the glue has set:

Step 6

In the same way, take the Smaller Rock Detail and test fit its squared post to this matching recess of the First Base Panel:

Step 7

In the same way as before, apply super glue to the edges of the squared post of the Smaller Rock Detail, then fit it to the First Base Panel and hold it in place until the glue has set. This rock detail leans against the Larger Rock Detail, leaving a gap underneath as shown:

Thoughts

I am not going to lie, I am a bit disappointed in this base. It is all plastic and the same color with some generic light grey paintwork. We shall see how the rest of it comes together.
